Val Cheong came from a boutique corporate advisory firm where she advised clients on initial public offerings and reverse take-over transactions in the Australian Stock Exchange and Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. Val has experience in advising small- to mid-size corporate clients and offshore investment funds with a wide variety of portfolios.

Val started her career in 2012 as an Investment Analyst with HEB Manitoba, a Canadian Provincial Pension Plan with Asset Under Management of $6 billion. Upon returning to Kuala Lumpur in year 2015, Val joined Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd for a short stint as a Proprietary Trader.

Val graduated from the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, Canada in year 2012 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree double majoring in Accounting and Finance. In year 2016, Val successfully completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program and officially becomes a CFA charterholder.
